Chispa Cuffing Season: Tips from an Expert

Updated: 7 days ago

The overlapping of cuffing and voting season can be tricky to navigate, so we have teamed up with Gabriela Reyes, LMFT our relationship expert, to curate a Cuffing Season Toolkit that brings valuable insights and support to the community!

This toolkit is designed to help you connect meaningfully with potential partners while being mindful of political differences.

  1. Don’t Settle

Hallmark movies have made all of us want cuddles and romance, but that is minimal to the time and attention you give to your person. Don’t settle for someone just because it’s cuffing season; the pressure to have someone isn’t worth it.

  1. Manifest! Make a List Of Your Ideal Partner

Make sure you’re not settling for less by making a short list. Include non-negotiables,

flexibles, and basic superficial wants. The universe can be listening, so might as well be

detailed!

  1. Don’t Try To Play It Cool

Be honest with yourself and potential dates about what you want, and don’t just focus on looking as hot as possible. Use pictures that show your personality and interests alongside the hot ones!

  1. Check In With Yourself Regarding Political Views

Cuffing season and voting season coming together can make dating a bit more nuanced.

If you are enraged by someone wearing a party specific shirt, you probably shouldn’t date someone with differing views. If you feel no rage and can have respectful conversations, there’s no reason to shut anyone out.

  1. Look For The Red (Or Blue Flags)

Choose your partner accordingly; if their dating profile states a political choice clearly, you can decide how to move forward based on that information. If politics is important to you and they haven’t mentioned it, do not be afraid to ask in the initial conversation.

Remember that meaningful connections are built on more than just shared interests. They thrive on respect and understanding, so keep it genuine and open! Are you ready to share your chocolate caliente with someone special this season?
